Our Symbols
The school symbols represent our core values: identity, fraternity, and transcendence. At San Viator, the flag, the coat of arms, the lion and the anthem are the representation of our values. Blue and white are the predominant colours in the flag and the coat of arms. The red lion, our most important symbol, present in the flag and coat of arms, represents strength, honor and justice. The verses of our school anthem represent the educational mission and Catholic faith of our school.
Houses
There are four houses at the school — Crilly, Querbes, Cusack, and Stafford — that compete throughout the year.
HOUSES
A Houses is a group of people akin to a family, comprising representatives of students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff. They come together to share diverse learning, playful and teaching experiences, including aspects of the school’s culture, sports, arts and spiritual community life.
Such events are held throughout each academic year. There are four houses at San Viator, Crilly, Querbes, Cusack, and Stafford, the members of each house are part of it for the period of time they are part of our community.

SPORTS AND CULTURE
At Colegio San Viator Bilingüe Internacional, we promote the integral development of our students, recognizing sports and culture as fundamental pillars of their education. We believe in the power of play, artistic expression, and discipline as pathways to strengthen values such as teamwork, perseverance, creativity, and leadership.
Our Viatorian students stand out not only for their academic excellence but also as committed athletes and passionate artists. We offer a wide range of sports, including hockey, ultimate, track and field, basketball, soccer, and volleyball, among others.
In the cultural sphere, we offer spaces such as Viator Cultural, where talent and artistic sensitivity are nurtured through music, visual arts, theater, and dance. These spaces allow our students to explore their abilities, share their passions, and strengthen their identity as active members of a vibrant and creative community.

Rooted in the example of Christ, the Clerics of Saint Viator have dedicated themselves to faith-based education.
CLÉRIGOS DE SAN VIATOR
Fundados por el Padre Luis Querbes en el año 1831, acogiendo como patrón y protector a San Viator y respondiendo a la fuerte situación social de la Francia de ese entonces, nace la Congregación de los Clérigos de San Viator.
Fortalecidos e inspirados en los modelos evangélicos, los Clérigos se han llenado de celo por educar en la fe y celebrarla en medio de las comunidades en donde se encuentran. Hoy, 188 años después el sueño de Querbes, se ha ido expandiendo por todo el mundo y su misión «Anunciar a Jesucristo y su evangelio, suscitar comunidades en las que se viva, se profundice y se celebre la fe» sigue permeando los corazones de jóvenes y familias que encuentran en este carisma la manera de seguir las huellas de Jesús.
Educadores, religiosos, asociados y párrocos, estos son los roles de los miembros de la comunidad y tienen como sello la enseñanza, la vida espiritual, la Eucaristía, la liturgia y la vida comunitaria. Los Clérigos en Colombia pertenecen a la Provincia de Estados Unidos.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
We offer three programs from the International Baccalaureate continuum with the aim of preparing students holistically—from early childhood through the upper grades.

EMPHASIS
En San Viator, en el proceso de la formación integral de los estudiantes de 10 y 11, ha sido nuestro propósito generar un ambiente de enseñanza y aprendizaje que les permita tener experiencias formativas teniendo en cuenta sus intereses personales y profesionales.
Para esto creamos los énfasis vocacionales que se convierten en la oportunidad para que los estudiantes escojan las asignaturas de su plan de estudios con base en los grandes campos del conocimiento y orientado hacia la carrera que piensan estudiar.
Students are encouraged to observe the world from the perspective of the exact sciences and technology, aiming to catch their attention and interest to identify contexts of innovation, creativity, and mathematical calculations, as improvement and solutions to different problematic situations encountered in the real world
Planned and conceived to provide students with the necessary tools and basic knowledge which enable them to comprehend different managerial theories. The aim is to instill in all of them the entrepreneurial thrive to learn to analyze, discuss and generate solutions from the perspective of economics and management.
Health sciences study the human being as a unique biological entity. This emphasis comprises contents from different areas aiming to construct knowledge, develop skills and attitudes towards the well-being of the individual as well as the society which they belong to.
The practice and analysis of the verbal and non-verbal communication, the capacity to work as members of a group, the comprehension of historical contexts, and the development of critical thinking skills are the core focus of this emphasis. They are put together to give students the opportunity to attain the tools which enable them to understand the complexities of societies.
Extended Essay
Engaging in this process fosters the development of critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills.
Extended Essay
What is the importance of the Extended Essay?
The extended Essay basically:
- Provides practical training to our students for university-level research projects they will encounter on their educational journey.
- Serves as an opportunity to explore a topic of personal interest, as long as it is connected to one of the six subjects they study as part of the Diploma Program curriculum.
Through the elaboration of this project, students develop several skills, including the ability to:
- Formulate an appropriate research question.
- Carry out a personal exploration of the chosen topic.
- Share ideas. effectively
- Develop well-rounded arguments.
Engaging in this process fosters the development of critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills.
Personal Proyect
Students in the final year of the MYP explore a personal area of interest to consolidate their learning.
PROYECTO PERSONAL
Students in the final year of the MYP explore a personal area of interest durante un período de tiempo prolongado. Esto les brinda la oportunidad de consolidar su aprendizaje y desarrollar habilidades importantes que necesitarán tanto para sus futuros estudios como para su vida fuera del aula. También les ayuda a desarrollar confianza en sí mismos para convertirse en alumnos íntegros y adoptar una actitud de aprendizaje durante toda su vida.
Components of the Personal Project
The personal project formally assesses the approaches to learning abilities in terms of self-management, research, communication, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration.
Students are required to fulfil three key elements.
- Product or result: this includes a tangible or intangible evidence of the outcomes obtained by the student or what they aimed to achieve.
- Journal: students maintain a journal that includes their ideas, criteria, developments, obstacles, plans, research, possible outcomes, and progress reports.
- Report: This report outlines the project and its impact, following the given presentation criteria. it should include a bibliography and evidence from the work journal presenting the development and achievements obtained by the student.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
This is how we integrate our values to make meaningful contributions to society.
CAS PROGRAM
At Colegio San Viator, the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) program goes beyond being just a component of the Diploma Programme (DP). It is a way through which our values are integrated to contribute to society.
The school emphasizes helping students develop their own identity, in alignment with the ethical principles expressed in the IB mission statement and the IB learner profile.
CAS complements a rigorous academic program in a holistic manner, offering opportunities for self-determination, collaboration, achievement, and enjoyment. It engages students in a variety of activities alongside their academic studies within the DP.
